COMPLEXITY METRIC APPLIED TO DISCRETE EVENTS SYSTEMS

Resumo

This paper proposes an application of the complexity metric in Discrete Events Systems. Will be presented two case studies: i) distribution center problem and ii) hospital emergency center problem, modeled in terms of entities, resources and queue. From the simulation of scenarios, with different combinations of amount of resources, is calculated the complexity based on the systems activate connections. The results obtained show the relationship of the complexity with the resource number and the waiting time in the queue. The complexity behavior is intrinsically related with the use of the more sensitive resource system.
