Optimization of synchronous machines controllers using metaheuristics

Resumo
EPS problems are usually difficult to fi nd its best result, due to lack of precise resolution models or because of its complexity and high number of variables. Metaheuristics are a good resolution process, being not onl y robust, but also simple and adaptable to the nature of the problem. Therefore, in this paper we propose the us e of three different met aheuristic algorithms to solve an infinite bus problem when a short -circuit is applied to the system. Genetic Algorithm, Particle Swarm Optimization and Cuckoo Search are implemented and their tuning of the c ontroller is discussed.
