Resumo

The development and characterization of ceramic coating reinforced with Alumina Zircônia (Al2O3 - ZrO2) and rare earth oxide will be presented in this academic work. For the tests were prepared four types of samples containing Alumina added with gradually increasing percentages of Zircônia (5%, 10%, 15% and 20% (by weight)) and 2% fixed rare earth oxide. The ceramic powders were weighed, mixed in low-energy ball mill, pressed by uniaxial press and sintered at high temperature furnace. For characterization of the samples were performed tests of Particle Size Analysis (ATP), optical microscopy (OM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray Diffraction (XRD). The samples were immersed in crude oil, land and sea, coming from wells in the state of Sergipe, and their behavior was analyzed after immersion in oil environment. After this period the pellets were again analyzed by optical microscopy. As a result of this research it was observed that for all the samples were not detected cracks on the material surface, showing an inert behavior of the composite crude oil environment.
