SIMULATION OF THE STEADY-STATE CONDUCTION-RADIATION HEAT TRANSFER PROCESS USING FINITE ELEMENT METHOD

Resumo

This work deals the steady-state conduction-radiation heat transfer process in rigid, opaque and convex body at rest. The phenomenon is mathematically modeled by a linear second order partial differential equation subjected to nonlinear boundary conditions arising from the thermal radiation heat transfer between the body and the environment. The simulation will be carried out by means of a sequence of linear problems, each of them simulated with the aid of a finite element approximation. The approach employs triangular finite elements. Some typical results are show to illustrate the methodology.
