Resumo

The support structure of the airplane fuselage for the SAE Aerodesign Competition is usually a truss. This structure supports several loads from different aircraft systems, such as, the undercarriage, engine thrust, etc. In this work, it is purposed a methodology for generating the best layout or material distribution of the airplane fuselage support structure with maxima stiffness using topology optimization. By using the Matlab® software, it was created a function for the computation of the fuselage structure optimal topology based on the magnitude and direction of the several forced applied on the truss. In this way, this function in Matlab® language can generate automatically the optimal material distribution by considering the final volume of the airplane fuselage irregular design space.
