Resumo

The relationship between the form and structure of the Attorney General's Office of the Brazilian Republic, projected by the architect Oscar Niemeyer, defines the framework of the architectural design. The geometric forms of this set, formed by two main buildings, are realized by two constructive technologies and different structural solutions. The predominant construction system used for the construction of the block ''A'', is the concrete prestressed with a cable-stayed system. The entire weight of the building is transferred to the central hard core, which unloads it to the foundations. Considering the reinforced structural system, metallic pillars were used for the concreting of the slab of the first floor, permitting the temporary support of the building. José Carlos Süssekind was the engineer responsible for the structural project of the architectural complex. Through a computational analysis performed by the SAP2000 program, it was possible to identify the structural models of the building to obtain numerical data that represent the efforts and tensions that coexist in this work. For the structural analysis three load hypotheses were considered: Permanent Loading (G), Accidental Loading (Q) and Wind (V).
