Resumo
The behavior of prestressed concrete beams is investigated on this paper using numerical simulations. Experimental tests documented on another researches were modelled using bidimensional nonlinear finite elements analysis on the softwares packages ATENA and DIANA. Thus, a comparison of the constitutive models and methodologies available on these softwares is done for the modeling of both bonded and unbonded tendons. In the models was include the nonlinear behavior of cracked concrete and the steel yielding of the prestressed tendons and the reinforcement bars. In order to endorse the models adopted for concrete and steel, it was compare numerical and experimental results such as failure modes and load versus deflection curves. From these comparisons, it can be concluded that simulations were able to represent accurately the influence of prestressing on the concrete beams behavior. Besides, it was compared the concrete crack pattern, where a good agreement was also found between the analysis and experimental data.
