Resumo
This paper presents a numerical analysis of bending plates considering Reissner's hypothesis. A truly meshless method designated Meshless Local Petrov-Galerkin Method is used to obtain a linear system of equation. In order to enforce essential boundary conditions a direct interpolation process is applied using the function shape obtained with the collocation method. The formulation is based on the equilibrium equation leading to the equation system in terms of displacement. Reissner's theory takes account the deformations in thickness of plates, which does not occur in Mindlin's theory. Results obtained by the application of the presented formulation are discussed in this work, considering plates with different geometries, loads and boundary conditions. Furthermore, results are compared with the Mindlin's hypothesis and also other numerical methods, such as MEF and MEC to assess the formulation.
