Experimental and numerical determination of the axial load in structural tie-rods with complex boundary conditions

Resumo

This work introduces an automated algorithm for the calculation of the axial load acting in structural tie-rods. The numerical process starts from the experimental determination of the dynamic behaviour of the tie-rods, and is aimed at determining the optimal stiffness at the tie-rod/wall interface. The results are of great interest for the assessment of the stability of an entire building.
