Resumo
This paper presents the development of a methodology for obtaining weighted average efficiency for power conditioners in photovoltaic systems, customized according to the application's specific characteristics. By adopting the concept of mission profile, irradiation and ambient temperature curves were obtained for different Brazilian cities and for solar panels in fixed mounting (tilted and horizontal) and with mechanical tracking (1-axis and 2-axis). The impact of each mission profile on the efficiency of power converters was individually evaluated with basis on IEC 61683 criteria. A mathematical model of a photovoltaic cell was used for estimating produced power and its influence by solar radiance and operating temperature. Proposed methodology details are presented along with results for photovoltaic energy generation for each scenario, as an analysis of customized weighted average efficiencies and the impact of this figure of merit on evaluation and design of power converters.
