Resumo

This paper proposes the use of the Active Shape Models algorithm (Cootes and Taylor, 1992), to locate a set of points of interest in frontal images of nasal bases. The goal is to provide useful and accurate information for aesthetic analysis. The algorithm was implemented and tested on a set of 180 images and showed to be a good way to identify specific landmarks necessary for planning surgical interventions.
