Resumo
The surge impedance of transmission towers is an important factor and its value, associated with impulsive currents, is essential to evaluate voltages that may cause dielectric disruption between the power cable and the tower structure. This work describes the analytical and experimental methods for the surge impedance computation and proposes a computational model, in three dimensions, of transmission towers. The model is then analyzed, using the finite element method (FEM), in order to obtain the parameter herein focused. Using experimental data, comparisons were performed to verify the modeling performance. Through the EMTP/ATPDraw simulator, the voltage were obtained considering an impulsive current source and the results have shown a good accuracy when compared with the field results.
