Resumo

This work outlines efforts in the theoretical development of the connection between electron gas equations and the Boltzmann equation using the Gas Kinetic Method - GKM. The relationship between the Boltzmann equation and electron gas equation is reviewed and the corresponding relationship between the Boltzmann equation with the Lorentz force is explored. The Boltzmann equation is discussed with respect to the nature of the body force term (the Lorentz force). The consequences of this choice regarding the accuracy of the physical phenomena captured is discussed. The importance of introducing the Lorentz force in the GKM formulation is highlighted.
