Resumo

The porosity approach is very common in the detonation simulation. This project proposes a novel technique to obtain the mesh porosity (volume and area) based on the Gilbert-Johnson-Keerthi (GJK) distance algorithm. The GJK algorithm can be used to check for collision between convex objects. This idea is used to check the collision between an element of the mesh and a geometry from a model. There is also the possibility to break the element of the mesh recursively to obtain porosity refined values. This novel approach has demonstrated that it can handle complex geometries using a short computational time.
