Resumo

One of the processes presents in manufacture of automotive batteries is the "Formation Process" where the batteries are activation through routines of electrical charging with increase gradual of electrical voltage. During this process the batteries suffer internal reactions that release heat and increase temperature them, exposing the industrial plant to risk of fire. To avoid this risk, some manufacturers use as solution refrigeration, water's banks, structures where the batteries rest over water bath while they are loaded. The challenge for manufacturers is reduce the cost and high time the formation process because the batteries temperature increasing during process, making the control temperature an important factor to productivity. Other problem is the water loss in the process due to the cooling system used. So this study presents a solution applied in a "Formation Process" on battery industry to optimize the time and cost of process through the proposed a new water cooling system.
