Resumo
In this paper, a preliminary investigation regarding the dynamic behavior of a rotor system subjected to a base excitation is presented numerically. The rotating machine is composed by a horizontal flexible shaft, one rigid disc, and two self-aligning ball bearings. A mathematical model of the rotor is derived from the Lagrange's equation and the Rayleigh-Ritz method, which is obtained by considering the strain and kinetic energies of the disc and shaft, and the mass unbalance. The equations of motion of the system are used to provide information about the vibration responses of the rotor under base and unbalance excitations. Some simplifications are adopted in order to obtain the responses of the considered rotor system. Therefore, the proposed analysis is confined to the time and frequency domains, being generated by the orbits, unbalance responses, and the Campbell diagram. Further research efforts will be dedicated to additional numerical tests considering a finite element model.
