CONCEPTUAL DESIGN OF A DISINFECTION MACHINE TO CONTAINERS OF HAZARDOUS WASTE

Resumo

Industries and operating rooms are large generators of hazardous waste to human and the environment (biological and chemical risks). Companies responsible for the treatment of such waste, largely transported in drums (container built in polymeric material), are using processes for disinfection unsafe for the operator and not efficient, still other companies discard such containers with the waste to be treated. Addition of material from the container to the processing system with the residue increases the energy consumption and the amount of formation of ashes and gases of the process. To realize the reuse of containers adding efficiency to the system and promote an environmentally friendly treatment process, was developed the machine conceptual design to conduct disinfection of containers securely. Obtained the automated machine design, comprises pipes, valves, pump, reservoir. This paper presents a conception design to a mechanical machine for disinfection of polymeric container 200 liters, that was intended to allow the reuse of containers for transport of waste ensuring economic, technical and operational viability.
