Resumo
The purpose of this paper is to verify the Norton Hardness influence of conventional grinding wheels on the Barkhausen Noise results from Austempered Ductile Iron (ADI) Grade 3 samples. The Barkhausen Noise parameters on these samples was measured and compared. Also magnetization frequency influence, as well the microhardness results, were analyzed. The impact of different frequency magnetization was pointed and related with samples Vickers hardness results, since the Barkhausen Noise and microhardness are associated with material subsurface state. The results indicate the magnetization frequency of 125 Hz is the more applicable for the ADI Grade 3 Barkhausen Noise evaluation as compared with the another magnetization frequency employed in this research. Original value of this paper is the first time the ADI Grade 3 machined by cylindrical external grinding process is analyzed with different magnetization frequencies through Barkhausen Noise methodology.
