Extrapolation methods comparison for wind energy purpose

Resumo
Studies of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) held in 2014 state that the production of energy from renewable sources such as hydraulic, wind and solar, has become financially competitive with energy production from fossil fuels. For the success of projects of this nature, should be substantially minimized the uncertainties associated with the project, and to accomplish that, the wind speed data used should use methods that mitigate the errors in processing. This study aims to compare three methods of extrapolation of vertical wind speed profiles by using the software RStudio, in order to assess which of these has the lowest root mean square error (RMSE) compared to the measured data and thus get the lowest uncertainty. The study will determine values of parameters c and k of the Weibull distribution for the extrapolated data and the measured values, in sequence will compare the curves for assess which of the methods has the lowest error with respect curve collected data.
