Moisture flow distribution in stator blades of steam turbines

Resumo

The velocity, enthalpy and pressure distribution of steam with moisture in a stator blade channel of the last stage of the low pressure section steam turbine of 30 MW is presented. The condensation conditions on the basis of the frictionless, two-dimensional, stationary, transonic and homogenous flow, in order to compute the droplet motion in a blade mesh configuration according to the finite volume method, are established. The distributions show inflections caused by presence of droplets localized in the 87% of curvature of the profile, in the outlet of throat on the suction surface, resulting in a variation of the expansion rate in the passage of blades. These droplets escaping from the stators blades impact the next crown rotor blades, developing the phenomenon of erosion.
