CONTRIBUTION TO ADVANCED STUDY OF MORTAR HIGH PERFORMANCE STRUCTURAL REPAIRS

Resumo
Numerous concrete structures in Brazil and in the world are reaching the limit of its projected life, completing a cycle of five or more decades of use and operation. In addition to the older structures, there are structures with reduced service time, and questionable quality, which already have diseases in such an advanced stage that reach compromise in performance. Come to meet these needs and to contribute to the scientific and technological advances in the industry, this paper presents a method for dosage, preparation and application of high performance mortar for recovery of damaged structures and suggests procedures for carrying out such repairs by promoting the culture of preventive maintenance and demystifying the complexity attributed to such operations. Thus, we performed mechanical tests, microstructural and related bodies in the durability of the test piece molded with silica fume and styrene-butadiene latex. The results indicated that the adoption of these ingredients in the composition of the repair mortar, caused a significant reduction in permeability and promoted a better integrity of the mortar constituents, resulting in an expansion, expressive, the its mechanical capabilities. When compared to the industrialized products of construction, with similar patterns, provided a savings of 85%, which would recover, with the same costs, nearly five times more compromised structures. This study, highly technological bias, comes to offer to construction a polymer mortar high performance with restorative function and more affordable, which can be adopted on construction sites, implementing actions for sustainable nature and still meeting the current requirements listed by literature related to performance, service life and durability of repaired structures.
