Resumo

Vibrations transmitted in cycling activities may cause injuries to the rider's body. In this paper, some factors related to human exposure to vibration during the cycling activity will be presented. Also the methodology described by the ISO 2631-1 and ISO 5349-1 standards for the evaluation of the vibration that the human body is subjected to during the practice of cycling is presented, focusing on vibrations transmitted to the hand-arm system. Conclusions are drawn on the best way to investigate the vibration influence on cyclists. At the end, suggestions to future works are given, so to increase the knowledge related to this subject.
