Resumo
Among the main manufacturing processes highlights the GMAW welding process (Gas Metal Arc Welding), due to its many advantages, such as being used with all commercial metals and alloys, high deposition rates, long bead due to the continuous feed the consumable wire and yet easy automation. GMAW welding is a process that uses an arc between arc continuously feeding a metal (wire) and the weld pool using an external source of gas to protect the weld puddle from contamination of outside air. This paper proposes an analysis of the influence and optimization of operating parameters of this process, such as current, welding speed, and voltage. The steel in question is the AISI 304 is used for this study the factorial design technique with two levels for each of the operating parameters is repeated twice more for each of the combinations. "The welding is simple deposition on a flat plate thickness 1/4", where the specimens have the dimensions 65 x 150 mm. After welding the specimens will be prepared for the macro and micrograph of the molten zone, HAZ and bonding zone, in order to enable the extraction of results offering the best combinations of the input parameters for a finer microstructure with the presence of more equiaxial grains. Also the mechanical properties will be checked the hardness in the regions of welded joints as well as the analysis of toughness.
