Resumo

Considering competitive environments, the incessant search for market share has created a higher ability to adapt to changes. In order to attend this context, the companies need to make own strategic decisions according to their opportunities and influences of market. This is an important feature to prioritize strategies which should be aligned with the company´s aims and resources. Therefore, business organizations need to develop and prioritize solid strategies for dealing with these issues. Based on this approach, the main objective of this paper is to determine correlations between BPM (Business Process Management) and the internal and external organization strategies to contribute to create a strategic prioritization model for competitive scenario. In order to fulfill this objective, firstly BPM is characterized based on literature review and on the competitiveness model description. After that, the characteristics are correlated to a strategic model and these correlations are established. The methodology used is the focus methodology which permits strategies to be prioritized and results have been confronted with theoretical model which has a scale of impact from low to high level. Thus, the impact of each characteristic is measured to each strategy. As a result of this study, we have concluded that strategies which had highly impact have been related to quality and excellence organizational and also human capital, representing opportunities for a better BPM, impacting in hierarchical levels reduction, flexibility and response time. In this context, focusing on highly impact strategies, people are valued, new ideas are generated and transfer of knowledge helps to develop new products, meeting consumer needs.
