Resumo
Volume of Fluid is a widely employed method in the simulation of multiphase flows. However, one of its drawbacks is its lack of accuracy on interfacial curvature estimates. Many methods of curvature estimation have been presented in the literature during the years and this work sheds a new light on the problem. The interfaces are locally described by a set of points and normals and the curvature is extracted from this set. The methodology was developed in OpenFOAM(R) . An increase in accuracy of the normals and curvatures is observed, what improves the computation of interfacial tension.
