Resumo

The concern about environmental issues has led researchers to develop new technologies to reduction in emissions of pollutants and improves the efficiency of combustion processes. The flameless combustion of liquid biofuels sprays has shown a viable technology to achieve these purposes. The numerical modeling has been aiding the development and the understanding of phenomena involved in these processes enabling the advancement of this new technology. This paper presents the numerical modeling of turbulent sprays formed from a blurry injector, which will be used in the simulation of flameless combustion of ethanol. The simulations were performed in ANSYS CFX and the test fluids used in the spray formation was ethanol and air.
