TECHNICAL AND ECONOMIC FEASIBILITY OF PRODUCTION THE CASSAVA FLOUR THROUGH OF BURNING OF BIOMASS RESIDUAL IN THE FURNACES

Resumo

With growing environmental concerns, the need arises to search for new alternatives for energy production. In this context the residual biomass from agriculture emerges as an option for power generation through combustion equipment such as boilers and furnaces. This study aims to analyze in two steps using the residual biomass from different cultures, quantifying and evaluating the technical and economic feasibility of processing waste for energy generation in furnaces five Houses of Flour. In technical analysis the biomass of the agreste of Alagoas, favored by high agricultural production region were identified and quantified from the data present in recent surveys conducted in the region. Determined the average consumption of the Houses of Flour from the consumption of firewood used as fuel, and was made in relation to the comparative energy potential of waste biomass, noting that it would be possible to replace the fuel from agricultural waste. The economic aspects analyzed also showed that agricultural waste could be used in the furnaces of Houses of Flour in question without processing or dense, replacing the currently used fuels without significant drop in income from the Houses of Flour.
