Resumo

This work intends to show that the multi-physics simulations can be decomposed into four hierarchical layers, facilitating their implementation. These simulations involve the coupling between phenomena using a framework called MPhyScas. To compute approximate solutions involving the problems that deal with coupled phenomena, this work is based on solution methods that decompose the global problem into several sub-problems using the operator decomposition method. These sub-problems, because they are simpler, allow the use of simpler algorithms to obtain their solutions, however the organization of the simulator becomes more complex, being necessary the use of a manipulator to restructure the global problem, then the use of MPhyScas as a guide and structural support contributes greatly to the development of these simulators. The developed methodology is presented through a problem of elastoplasticity under the diffusion of hydrogen, allowing to illustrate the main advantages of the decomposition, which are: ease of organization of simulators; separation of concerns related to the various algorithms used to solve the problem; adequate details of the representation of the various tasks required in the simulation of the problem. This work demonstrates that the hierarchical view of coupled phenomena simulators can be very relevant to its implementation, since it facilitates: the use of a computational infrastructure to reduce development time; reuse software; cooperative work; make the final result more understandable and maintainable.
