Resumo
The steel-concrete composite sections are increasingly being used in civil engineering works, both in the world context and in Brazil. In multi-storey buildings it is common to associate the steel beams with the concrete slab by means of connectors. In these cases, the joint work of the steel profile and the concrete slab considerably increases the performance of the composite structural element due the advantages of each material. Several elements for non-linear numerical analysis of steel-concrete composite beams with partial interaction have been developed. In this work, a bar element is used in conjunction with an interface element for non-linear analysis of steel-concrete composite beams with partial interaction. The goal is to assemble an algorithm that uses these analysis tools to scale concrete steel composite beams for an optimized design in terms of material expenditures. Defining the spans, supports, loads for verification ultimate and service, for the beam analyzed, an optimization algorithm is used to define a steel profile within a list available on the market, dimensions of the rectangular cross section of the concrete slab and the quantity and diameter of the reinforcement bars of the concrete slab so that the quantity of these materials is the minimum necessary to support the loading and to ensure structural safety considering the limit states design (ultimate and serviceability). The design constraints are those defined in norms related to the dimensioning of concrete linear elements, steel or composite, as well as constraints regarding the dimensions of the parts and the step size of the nonlinear optimization algorithm. The objective function is defined as the cost per linear meter of the composite beam, obtained from the cost of each material, steel, concrete and reinforcement. In the optimization process, the iterative method linear sequential programming is used, in which the nonlinear problem of defining the design variables that meets all design constraints is approximated by a sequenc
