Resumo
Structural engineering firms are being prepared to offer the projects using architectural models based on the BIM (Building Information Modeling) platform. Some offices are already delivering the final product also in this new technology. Therefore, studies that apply these new tools are very important to guarantee an evolution in the project design. The present work aims to evaluate the BIM concept taking into account the problems related to structural analysis, and two software are used to analyze the adopted structural models: Autodesk Robot and CypeCAD. These two programs have distinct approaches related to Autodesk Revit, a software for BIM. CypeCAD operates from a Revit export by IFC. Autodesk Robot works with an analytical model that is based on model generated in Revit itself. Four different models are used to compare the results of the structural analysis performed by the two software after exporting the model through Revit: a 2D frame, a 3D frame with a slab, a three floors 3D frame with slabs and a two floors 3D frame with continuous slab. This work presents some problems found in the usage of Revit, for the modeling of the structure, and software as Autodesk Robot and CypeCAD for the structural analysis, such as: adjustment in the coefficient of stiffness adopted in CypeCAD; Revit analytical model settings (initial configurations, model, node connection, column support, and continuous beams that support two boards at different levels); IFC exported to CypeCAD; specific adjustments in the Robot analytic model after the Revit model is imported. A comparative analysis is carried out using graphs, differentiating the results obtained with the two software, also calculating the standard deviation. Thus, it was possible to verify a satisfactory result considering the usage of BIM platform with the structural analysis performed by the two software, observing some details highlighted in this work.
