NUMERICAL IMPLEMENTATION OF HEAT EQUATION CONSIDERING NONLINEAR HEAT SOURCE

Resumo

In this work a numerical model for the thermal problem with nonlinear heat source is presented. The model is solved in two dimensions using finite element method and its solution is implemented using the python programming language. The nonlinear aspect of the model takes into account the heat released in a chemical reaction which is thermally activated, which means that it is affected by the temperature. The model can be useful on modeling concrete thermal behavior at early ages which is an important phenomena in large concrete structure due its impact on the integrity of the material.
