Resumo
In this work the RSVD routine was used to identify damage in a structure using frequency response functions (FRFs) from a healthy and damaged aluminum plate with different failure levels. The RSVD was applied to FRFs in a high frequency range, above work frequency, as the main assumption is that small damages can be easily found by tracing the changes in high frequency modes. Though this assumption can be demonstrated theoretically, an actual measurement is usually difficult due to the environmental and measurement noise. This procedure can be an effective solution to those identification problems only if it proves to be practical and reliable. Some practical aspects will be discussed and actual data from different measurement positions, failure and noise level will be presented.
