POSITIONING OPTIMIZATION IN WIND TURBINE FARMS

Resumo

The turbines in a wind farm are usually arranged so close together that may be affected by the wake effect. It is advisable to take into consideration some consequences of this interaction as, reduction in energy production in wind turbines. In this paper, through an optimization algorithm, using the wake model proposed by Werle looking determine the optimum layout for a wind farm determining the best position of each turbine in order to maximize energy production. To achieve this goal a code in MATLAB program was used to calculate the wind behavior and performing an optimization using the software modeFRONTIER.
