Resumo
This paper presents useful information on the application and specification of shunt reactors for transmission and distribution power systems, focusing on the comparison between the Air Core and Oil Immersed High Voltage Power reactors. It also provides a brief explanation of the design characteristics and benefits of using dry type air core shunt reactors, including switching, protection, safety, logistics, operation and maintenance as well as environmental aspects.
