Resumo

The Photovoltaic Distributed Generation (PVDG) connection on the electric system represents a trend that contributes to the diversification of the energy matrix, providing economic, operational and environmental benefits. However, when on a large scale, PVDG can affect the quality and reliability of the electrical system. Thus, this paper aims to present the results of a study that evaluates the impacts of the PVDG connection on a Medium Voltage Distribution System (MVDS). The OpenDSS software was used to model and analyze the behavior of a distribution feeder in 13.8 kV, considering five scenarios of the PVDG penetration. For each scenario, the voltage levels, short-circuit currents, load and technical losses along the feeder were evaluated. The results show that, although benefits are found at moderate levels, the imbalance between the load and the PVDG can compromise the quality of the electric power supply.
