Resumo
Concerning to fault current limits (FCL) technologies applied to distribution networks, the superconducting fault current limiters have some advantages in relation to the other kinds of FCL, such as: negligible impedance during normal system operation, fast operation time for fault current limitation and no need of auxiliary devices, among others. Researches about how to design these devices and their impacts in the electric system are necessary, in special considerations about power quality. In this context, this work presents an analysis of a resistive type superconducting fault current limiter applied to a real distribution network, using computational models developed in Alternative Transients Program (ATP) focusing in the modelling of this component. Some results are presented to prove this application.
