Resumo

The increasing use of photovoltaic distributed generation (PVDG) results in positive and negative impacts on the distribution systems. To soften and/or mitigate such effects, battery systems have been investigated as a possible solution. In this context, the objective of this work is to evaluate the impact of the integration of low-voltage storage systems in the voltage levels of the feeder, considering three uncoordinated battery control strategies. The first is based on the comparison between generation of PVDG and demand. The second one has as reference the average daily demand, and the third one considers the voltage levels of the buses. The results show that, if the batteries are not properly controlled, they can damage the distribution network, worsening the voltage levels. This can occur even when the battery installation is intended to improve the feeder operating conditions.
