Energy Efficiency of Regenerative Braking Applied in Sinusoidal and Trapezoidal PMSM

Resumo

This paper presents a simulation in MATLAB/Simulink environment comparing the energy efficiency obtained during the regenerative braking of two permanent magnet synchronous machines, one with back electromotive force (BEMF) trapezoidal and another with the sinusoidal one. An analysis of stopping times is also made. As a result, it was verified that the machine with trapezoidal BEMF is more efficient for the technique used.
