Power Factor Correction and Low Voltage Passive Harmonic Filtering: Case Study

Resumo

Industrial processes can use loads that must be controlled dynamically through static converters as well as, employ manufacturing processes based on controlled flash arc. The presence of these loads generates harmonic content bringing harmful effects to the life of the electrical system in general. Concessionaires of Energy tend to provide more energy to industrialists when the harmonic impact of loads with the aforementioned nature is controlled and / or minimized. This paper presents the impact of capacitor banks and harmonic filters in an industrial system.
