Resumo

The definitions of active, reactive, and apparent power are very well established in systems with purely sinusoidal signals. Nevertheless, there is no definition widely accepted by the scientific community when the issues are distorted signals of current and voltage. In this regard, this paper presents a reactive power compensation analysis according to IEEE Standard1459-2010, which is one of the latest propositions of literature to explain the power flow in non-sinusoidal conditions. Simulations were carried out in Simulink software using a resistive with a MOSFET circuit. The results show that this configuration has a behavior of reactive power generator, even without reactances in the circuit.
