Resumo
In this paper it was developed a model that reproduces the behavior of the impulse current generator from the Laboratory of High and Extra High Voltage at Federal University of Pará, the purpose of this model is to help in the creation of the new models of high voltage equipment, detect the reason of the failure and to detail tests. Therefore, it was used the multistage and equivalent models of this generator and with a high voltage model of a surge arrester of ZnO, it was recreated, through simulation, the electric behavior of the of residual voltage test at a surge arrester 60 kVrms. The simulations was achieved at ATPDraw software and then it was compared with discharge current waveform and residual voltage from the tests achieved at laboratory.
