Resumo

Demand response (DR) systems aim to balance the supply and demand of electric energy in order to maximizing the reliability and efficiency of power supply systems. Thus, this article presents a multiobjective optimization model based on real-time electricity prices to solve the problem of optimal residential load management. The proposal minimizes the cost of electricity associated with consumption and the inconvenience (dissatisfaction/discomfort) caused to consumers. The model proposed here was designed as a nonlinear programming problem subject to a set of constraints associated with the consumption of electrical energy and operational aspects related to the categories of the appliances. The proposal was solved computationally using the Non-Dominated Sorted Genetic Algorithm (NSGA-II) to determine new schedules for residential appliances over the entire time horizon. The results showed that the multi-objective RD model proposed here with theNSGA-II technique can minimize the total cost of energy consumption as well as minimize any inconvenience caused to consumers.
